We do not knowingly collect, use or disclose the personal information of any person under the age of thirteen. If you believe that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, please contact us at email@example.com, and we will endeavor to destroy such personal information immediately.
Make sure to fill-in contact information (email address and/or phone number) where indicated.
In order to ensure you comply w/ COPPA, there are two additional things to keep in mind:
(1) You should make sure that you do not collect personally-identifiable information from children (kids 12 years old or younger) either directly (via the web form) or “in the background.” Regarding the web form – if you have any reason to believe that anyone filling out the form is under 13 (e.g., if someone fills it out saying “I’m a 9 year old and I would like to attend the event. What time does it start?”), you can respond ONE TIME to answer the question but then must destroy all information related to that individual. (This includes destroying the inquiry email generated by the web form.)
(2) Regarding “in the background” collection – neither Alpha nor third parties should collect through the OKW website a cookie identification number, IP address, device identification number or similar. The FTC now considers such data to be “personally identifiable information” for COPPA purposes. You should be especially cautious of allowing ads to be placed by third parties on the OKW website, as these generally employ tracking technology.
